Xavier Machiana is one of Mozambique's most complete and versatile public figures — a musician, composer, actor, TV presenter, social activist, and behaviour change specialist whose work spans continents and disciplines.
As vocalist, guitarist and composer of Rockfeller's — considered one of the most influential bands in Mozambican urban pop-culture with 25+ years of history — he performed 200+ shows to audiences exceeding 10,000. As founder and lead vocalist of Indigo Blue, he continues to create boundary-crossing music that fuses Rock, Jazz, Gospel, Soul and Funk.
He has shared stages with Bono Vox (U2), Kool & The Gang, Sandra St. Victor and UB40. His singles Grace, Push!, Será?, Lugar and GO stream globally on all platforms.
He hosted the prime-time Saturday talk show No Sofa do Xavier on STV, Mozambique's largest private national channel. As an actor, he appeared in The Letter (dir. Pipas Forjaz), plus films, series and commercials across Mozambique, South Africa and Norway.
He founded The Office, Maputo's premier professional music production studio. With a degree in Applied Linguistics and Communication and 25+ years as a Project Manager and Behaviour Change Communication Specialist collaborating with national and international NGOs, Xavier is a rare artist whose impact extends far beyond the stage.
